Network service refers to the transmission of electricity from a production facility to an electricity user. The entire electricity grid in Finland consists of several interconnected regional electricity grids. Each region has its own electricity distribution company, which is responsible for ensuring that customers always have a reliable electricity transmission connection in their own electricity grid. In Vantaa, the electricity distribution services are provided by Vantaan Energia Sähköverkot Oy.

A power network contract is an agreement for the transmission of electricity. The power network contract is always made with the local electricity distribution company. In the case of residents in Vantaa, they make the contract with us, Vantaan Energia Sähköverkot. The power network contract is typically made on your behalf by the electricity supplier you choose, and you do not need to directly contact the electricity distribution company.

Electricity consumers cannot choose their electricity distribution company. The electricity transmission is always purchased from the distribution company that serves the area where the connected building is located. In Vantaa, residents purchase their electricity transmission services from Vantaan Energia Sähköverkot.

The termination of an electricity network agreement is always done through the electricity supplier. Therefore, please contact your electricity supplier and submit a termination notice to them.

The electricity connection is considered movable property and does not transfer automatically to the new owner.

When you pay for electricity transmission, you are charged a consumption fee (cents/kWh) based on the energy you consume, a basic fee (euros/month), as well as electricity taxes. Additionally, the electricity transmission price includes VAT. All electricity distribution companies invoice electricity taxes and value-added tax along with the transmission fees, which are then forwarded to the government.

The electricity transmission price is not dependent on the electricity supplier or the act of electricity competition. Customers are free to choose from which supplier to purchase their electricity without it affecting the transmission price.

Electricity distribution (transmission) and electricity supply (sales) are separated from each other. As the local distribution network company, we are responsible for electricity transmission in Vantaa and invoice for it separately. Your chosen electricity supplier will send their own invoice for the electricity you purchase from them. Customers are free to choose their electricity supplier without it affecting the transmission price.

Please contact our customer service for instructions on how to pay overdue invoices and for information on reconnecting the electricity supply. The electricity distribution company has the right to suspend the electricity supply if the payments have been neglected.
